Dingo444 asked: Over the last couple of years, I have turned a small handyman operation into a slightly larger business doing home remodeling. The projects I am now contracting for will necessitate hiring a few employees on an ongoing basis, and I am certain that I will need to be licensed to engage in most of the tasks I will be doing, as well as obtaining insurance. Does anyone have any idea how much money I will be looking at in order to legitamize my business, and what exactly will I need to acquire? Thanks in advance for your help!
My business is located in the metro Atlanta, Georgia area.

Johnny H asked: Hi.. I am a recent landlord and have had problems with my tenants in which I have asked them to pay for damage to my property. They have since written me a letter back saying that will not pay for the damage because they feel they are not at fault. The issue is the washer machine they installed aparently was installed improperly due to excessive water under the washer machine leaking to the first floor ceiling causing 6k in damage. I have hired a contractor and plumbing both confirming there were no signs of leaking pipes and thermal images from the contractor shows water originating from the laundry area directly under the washer. What are my next steps for claiming money to pay for the damage the tenants have created. I have already payed for the repair of my home.
That is what I did. There renters insurance does not cover structual damage to my place. So I am asking for them to pay for the my deductible.

lf asked: I know there’s something call home improvement parties or something like that, does anybody know what they are call and if you do how can I invite people (family, friends) to come over to my house and help me out with paint and small repairs around the house, it would cost me so much if I hire someone and I thought I could buy some pizza and drinks for friends, does that sound nice and if it does how do I do it, please help!!!!
I am actualy really good at doing things around the house, I’ve fixed toilets, sinks and even reulphoster my furniture. I just have to have some stuff done by the middle of next month for house insurance purposes and if I don’t fix them it could cost me a lot to get a new insurance

howcrazy asked: Okay, so we had a leak from the livingroom celing…we cut it open and it is the shower leaking. My step-dad is a pipe fitter so he came over and cerified that it was the shower…he replaced all the pipes comming from the shower and several other pipes going out. The shower still leaked…it’s a slow drip, but enough that water causes damage. We finally figured out that the leak is comming from the WHITE pressurized pipe that leads TO the shower. The problem is how do we get to that pipe…just pull it through the shower head space or from the bottom and then lead it back up after it is fixed? We already have hierd a sheetrocker and got the money from our insurance for the sheetrock…they do not cover plumbing…but we want to fix the water issue before we resheetrock obviously. So what is the name of the tool I need inorder to make sure that white pipe is pressurized correctly? THANK YOU!
We live a long way away and all the plumbers I called will charge a fee to come out that is more than the price to have the whole celing sheetrocked. Plus there is the cost of the plumber actually doing the job once they get there!
The drain and everything leading FROM the shower has been replaced. It is most definatly the white pipe that supplies the water to the shower that is leaking.
We already cut out a big hole in he celing…A to get rid of where there was ANY wet sheetrock and B to get to the pipes. The insurance only covers sheetrock etc that was from a ruptured pipe (which they called it a ruptured pipe although it is a leak. They do not cover in any way the plumbing…they do cover the sheetrock that had to be cut out to get to the plumbing. They have already been out and agree that it is the white line (the insurance adujuster used to be a contractor) and said we should be able to fix it ourselves….but he did not give us step by step!

Rockies VM asked: So if one licensed plumber and one unlicensed one, can make $280K profit, pay the unlicensed guy $60k, and say another 60k for the owner.
280 k plus 120k is $400K after expenses except salaries.
So what would a qualified plumber or anyone pay for this cash flow?
I would venture the business would be worth at least $2 Million to another plumber (licensed) working for someone else.
And Joe’s taxes would go up a lousy $900 a year, but medical insurance would be cheaper.
Seams like the taxes would be a minor issue compared to other things.
But what would be paid for this business, and can Joe the plumber afford to buy it?
