zboyet asked: I am doing a bathroom renovation and have ripped the tiles off of the drywall and plan to put up new tile. I am wondering if I sand the drywall smooth and maybe apply something to the surface if I can use the existing drywall. While taking off the tile it took off a fair amount of the paper but only in a few places is the white powder showing. It is not really a big deal if I have to use new stuff since I have worked with drywall before but I do not have a truck so it makes it tricky to acquire without bugging a friend.

thatmountguy79 asked: I own a mobile home and I want to know about remodeling it. The structure is good, but I want to know if I can remodel the bathroom and the kitchen. There is two walls that divide the kitchen and the dining room and I want to know if I remove the walls to put an island in the kitchen, will the structure not be stable. And in the bathroom there is a shower and a bathtub, but the shower is only big enough for one person. Is it possible to to remove the shower and the bathtub and put in a bigger walk-in shower.

matt_archbold2002 asked: I have a 1993 Honda Accord Lx automatic 4 door. yesterday, when i turn my car on, and started driving, i noticed that in the warning light with the picture of a car in the lower right corner of my speedometer and fuel gauge, it showed that all my doors were ajar, my trunk was open, and my brake light was bad (the brake light has said that sine i bought the car even after replacing the bulbs.
When i pulled over, i checked all the doors and they were fine, i continued driving, and they blinked on and off. they stayed off for a few minutes, then came back on. When i got home, i turned off the car and turned it bck on. None of the warning lights were on (except the brake light). then after a few seconds, they went back on.
Do you know what the problem is???????
I am worried that there is something wrong???????
Can a Shop run diagnostics when the waning lights are on and find out what the problem is?????????
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks.

Independent_guy asked: - Quote to replace tub and tub surround - $1,700 - this would be barring any problems
- Remove and dispose old carpet baseboards - $300
- Paint entire apartment including kitchen and bathrom cupboards and hallway -$2,100
- Carpet installation (275 sq.ft) and vinyl flooring (275 sq.ft) - $2500
The apartment is a 1-bedroom only 550 sq/ft. it’s a rental business and not in the best area in town in Ontario, Canada so I just want it to be nice and simple, not expensive fancy stuff. (for example commercial grade carpet is perfect). There was a heavy smoker living there before. is it possible painting is more expensive becasueof that for example? how much approximately should the above items really cost? THANKS.

Maria asked: This only happens when I use my dishwasher.
When I first turn it on, and the two times it fills up, what I think is the hot water pipe rumbles so forcefully that the whole downstairs shakes. The pipes are new. This has been happening for months on and off, but has started to happen almost every time I use the dishwasher now. If I turn on the hot water in the tub while it is happening, the rubling stops.

buidavid@sbcglobal.net asked: I just recently bought a fixer had outstanding code issues which were mitigated before my ownership. I applied for permit to replace the foundation. The code compliance inspector came and stared to dig out more problems outside and inside of the house, threaten me to let him go inside the house, he said “let me in or I will come back with a warrant” and he started shooting lots of photos and also said “if you touch anything I will fine you”. He said I might have to open existing ceiling skylight to see the framing, pointed out the plumbing, electrical outlets, etc…
I never touched anything since bought as is and the house is about 70 years old.

vballdrummer asked: Moved into a new home plumbed for a single water heater. The new heater is a 40g gas. We sometimes have temp issues with multiple showers (we have 4 teens). Would it be best to plumb a second 40g heater in series with the existing heater or replace existing (it’s new and has 10yr full warranty) with a larger capacity. Large capacity (60-80g) seem to be very very expensive. I was thinking of setting the temp of the first 40g at about 75% of the final stage. Which would work best for the cost of equip and fuel?
